2007 International CES - Quad HDTV
Filed under General by Brett Reid at 23:32pm January 10th, 2007Everyone wants an HDTV. They are just really really cool. You walk past them in the store and the image almost jumps out at you. DStv still have a while to go before they can broadcast in HD (a salesman told me “early 2007″ but I am not holding my breath). Sky in the UK broadcast in HD already. Nevertheless people are buying them - I mean how could they possibly improve on that picture quality?
“If you just exchanged your savings account for a shiny new 1080p (standard HD) LCD TV and you are showing it off to your neighbors, be aware that your bragging rights may be fading away by the middle of the year.” source
Enter Quad HDTV. It was unveiled at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The screen runs at 8.3 megapixels - four times more than 1080p (standard HD) TVs (1920×1080p) and more than twice the resolution of Dell’s, HP’s and Apple’s 30″ desktop LCDs. Read more about it here.
There are also some reviews here on Tom’s Hardware for all the other cool gadgets at the show and you can grab podcasts/webcasts/video from the 2007 CES here .
